By Rosella Campbell

If you have always wanted to be involved in this art, then now is the time for you to take those necessary baby steps. However, you need to perform them one by one. By doing so, you can be certain of a smooth flow in your operation and that will lead you to wrap up the fun or professional shoot in no time.

First, you are required to be very specific with the final location of the shoot. You also have to know that underwater photography is best done in still waters. Thus, be able to scout for the nearest swimming pools in your area. Have them shortlisted based on your budget and the type of session that you will be having.

Second, get yourself used to seeking the light all the time. This element can be everything that you need to create pictures that are worthy to be placed in a larger gallery. So, if there is none of it in the location that you have chosen, then you will have to provide a solution to the problem by purchasing some artificial equipment.

Third, you have to determine the portion of the pool which is receiving most of the light coming from the sun. Once you find that spot, then you are already good to go. You can make some few clicks on your camera to test the location. If the results are satisfactory, then you are already free to explore on different angles.

Also, you need to have a new perspective when it comes to close proximity. This feature may not be that cool when you are on land but you will certainly be amazed of the quality of the pictures that it can give to you when you are on water. The effects are completely different from each other that you will be glad that you gave it a try.

Moreover, learn to stretch those muscles. You can never get a good shot if you will not outstretch your arms once in a while. Remember that there is more than one angle being made available by nature to you. Thus, you have to explore on that more if you desire to be the best in the field that you have chosen.

On the other hand, practice making bubbles. If you have not noticed yet, these things look completely adorable whether you are in land or in water. Thus, try to create them naturally as much as possible. Also, be able to implement moderation at the same time so that your pictures would not look distorted in any way.

If you would be able to bring props into the shoot, then the better. You can use them to make your images look more realistic. They would also add color and interest into your creations so that other people would have no choice but to give them the time of the day.

Overall, practice and practice until you succeed. This may be new to you but you can always adapt to it given a considerable amount of time and guidance. So, read this article again if you have to.
