Equilibrium: Do Kettlebells Have a Place With Them?

By Rob Sutter

"Equilibrium" stands as a flick where one man has a revelation and works against everything that he had worked so hard to maintain. Because of this, he had to to fight against the forces which wanted to control the lives of others, not permitting them to feel emotions. This man's ability to utilize blades alongside guns is second to none and it shows during the course of the movie itself. In order for him to be an even more effective fighter, kettlebells could most certainly be put into inclusion here.

The idea of versatility is something that the main character of the film, John Preston, has taken to heart when training as a Grammaton Cleric in Libria. When I think of such usability, my mind instantly goes to kettlebells. When a person uses these to work out, it's clear that there are many areas of the body that can be worked out, not just the arms. Companies along the lines of Lorna are the ones which will be able to show you just how much success can come thanks to these rather unique weights.

Preston decided to fight back against the authoritative members of Libria and he wouldn't have done so had it not been for his reluctance to take the drug. As the story goes, all citizens of Libria are to inject themselves with a certain serum. This shuts down emotions, in essence, and people go about their duties in zombie-like ways. As a result, what we have here is an environment that I don't think even "1984" would have been able to fathom in many years.

When talking about Preston's competency to scrap, he has quite a few ways he can go about it. Not only is he able to avoid bullets rather quickly but he can take up particular weapons in order to take the fight to the enemy. He has been proven to cunning with a blade especially, his fast-paced motions able to bring down people at speeds which one would have only dreamed of otherwise. Along with being someone who was once in a rank of power, he's a fighter who is, to put it lightly, deadly.

As good as Preston can be with a selection of weapons, I still think that it'd be wise to use kettlebells. As someone who's been in contention with council, it's clear that they are going to throw all things - even including the kitchen sink - in his way. Even though he's clearly robust in his own way, a little bit of assistance can help every facet of his being. The workouts where these weights are used greatly are the ones that will truly make Preston become unstoppable when fighting for liberty.
