What To Expect When It Comes To Tattoo Removal

By Ines Brennan

People get themselves tattoos for a variety of reasons. Some reasons make sense, and then there are some that do not. For those that did not think it through or are disappointed with it in some ways may be considering having it removed. Luckily, there are tattoo removal orange county clinics for that. Before going any further, a closer look should be taken about the issue.

Body ink is intended for permanent residency in the body once it is there. This means that the act of removal, although possible, can be quite difficult to pull off. Each body is different and what works for one person may not work the same way with the other guys.

Removing unwanted ink is nothing new and as a result, people have been coming up with solutions for ages. In the past, these solutions have left considerable damage to the skin in the form of scarring and other side effects. The methods used were also quite painful and barbaric to say the least. Since then, the need for safe tattoo removal has been satisfied by the development of laser treatment.

Laser treatment is a method that removes ink from the body with less pain and less side effects than ever before. It breaks down tattoos, allowing the body to absorb the ink. This creates a mimic of the natural fading process of the human body that is normally created by time. The safety and high standards have lead to it being considered the golden standard within the industry.

For the sake of knowledge, there are still other methods to consider. One of which is Intense Pulsed Light Therapy, a procedure that makes use of high intensity light not dissimilar to laser. Spas have been known to make use of this technique. It is less painful and more effective than laser treatment, but for some reason, its use is not recommended by most experts and it is also a bit more expensive.

Aside from those two, there are many more methods to choose from, but are sadly more painful and generally ineffective. Laser treatments have largely replaced them as traditional removal methods. One of these methods is called cryosurgery. Cryosurgery involved freezing the affected area before attempting removal.

There is also dermabrasion, which involves sanding the body for the purpose of removing parts of the affected skin, like the middle layer or the surface. Another is excision, where surgeons remove the ink with a scalpel. The wound is closed with the use of stitches. Large tattoos usually require skin grafts afterwards to help with the healing.

Because of their painful and harsh nature, it is understandable why these methods gave way to the rise of more state of the art technologies. It is baffling why anyone would choose these methods over more modern and less painful ones. Despite that, they remain in practice to this day, but not quite as rampant or widespread as before.

At the end of the day, tattoos are something that you can either live with or live without. If you got one and choose to live with it, that is your call. If you decide that maybe it is not what you want, then any tattoo removal orange county clinics may do, in regards to removal.
